ÄRT ROAD BIKES

Why I Make High-End Road Bikes
Out of Passion
Since I was three years old, I have always ridden. I hope to continue until I am 100 years old. For me, riding a bike is more than a sport—it's a form of therapy. It's my balance, my escape, my way of breathing.
Creating bikes is a natural extension of this passion. I want to design small series, like works of art. Every bike that comes out of our workshop in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures is assembled by hand, with care and intention. I sign each one, like a sculpture. Because in my eyes, they are unique pieces.
Out of Necessity
Honestly, I can't imagine riding a competitor's bike. I had to create the bike I wanted to ride. I had to control every detail, every component, every sensation on the road.
I am not looking to produce in volume. I am not competing with big brands. My niche is exclusivity. What I offer you is not just a bike—it's an experience.
Out of Nostalgia
In 1980, I raced for Shimano-Stowe in Vermont. Since then, Shimano has been part of my DNA. I have always been supported by the Shimano family, and that's why I continue to choose their components today. They are, in my opinion, the best in the world.
To Share My Expertise
The Ärt frame we use today is the best I have ever ridden. Rigid, light, yet flexible and comfortable. It's a jewel of technology and craftsmanship.
I have a few in stock, ready to be assembled for cyclists who are looking for more than just a way to ride—for those who are
looking for a work of art.
Creating, innovating, riding:
It's more than a slogan. It's what drives me every day.
🖤 Three models. One vision.
What you see here are not just road bikes.
They are objects of passion.
For those who ride with their heart.

ABOUT THE FRAME

Lightweight, Stiff & Versatile – Built for Performance, Designed for Comfort
Engineered for riders who demand top-tier performance without sacrificing ride quality, this frame strikes the perfect balance between stiffness, weight, and comfort. With a subtly aerodynamic profile and ultra-light construction, it’s a true all-rounder—fast on the flats, agile on climbs, and smooth on rougher roads.
Whether you’re attacking short, punchy climbs or cruising over rolling terrain, the responsive geometry and advanced carbon
layup deliver explosive power transfer while minimizing fatigue on longer efforts.
Key Features
Ultra High Modulus Strength (UHMS) Carbon Layup
UHMS fibers are precisely placed in high-stress zones like the head tube and bottom bracket to maximize stiffness and power transfer. Used strategically, this material increases performance without adding brittleness, ensuring the frame remains responsive and durable.
Composed of 3 types of carbon
Constructed using over 400 individual carbon pieces, the frame combines Toray T800 (primarily), T700, and M30 fibers, each selected for their specific mechanical characteristics. This multi-modulus approach allows us to tune stiffness and compliance exactly where it’s needed.
Premium Toray Carbon
Sourced from Toray of Japan—world leader in carbon fiber innovation—our material ensures outstanding strength, consistency, and durability.
Tuned Stiffness, Targeted Compliance
Engineered for power where you need it and comfort where you want it. The carbon layup is optimized to reduce harsh vibrations while delivering direct power transfer and precise handling.
Monocoque Construction
The front triangle is molded as a single piece using the monocoque method, enhancing structural integrity and reducing weight. This means that the 3 main tubes, the heart of the bicycle, are made of 1 piece. The oblique and chain stays are then glued to this. This method is more laborious but results in a lighter and stiffer frame.
EPS+ Molding Technology
EPS+ internal molding ensures smoother internal tube surfaces, improved fiber compaction, and reduced resi buildup. This process results in a lighter, more structurally consistent frame, while also enabling clean and precise internal cable routing—leading to easier assembly, less rattling, and a sleeker overall appearance. EPS stands for Expanded Polystyrene, a technique that employs expanded foam as an internal mold, which is vaporized during the curing process.
🗺️ A Word on the Origin
With limited domestic carbon frame production in Canada, we’ve partnered with a world-class Asian manufacturer—a practical choice for our small-series offering.
Many of the world’s top cycling brands rely on Chinese manufacturers for their advanced carbon fiber expertise, precision molding techniques, and cost-effective scalability.
